About

Hi, my name is Gil and I’ve spent most of my life fishing in the Mid-West. My favorite fish to catch have been bass, catfish, and salmon but, like so many other anglers, I’ve been bitten by the walleye bug. I’ve become just this side of obsessed with them, largely for the challenge they pose to finding and landing them. Every time I latch onto a fish nowadays, I can’t wait to catch that first glimpse as it breaks the surface to identify it as the elusive ol’ marble eye. Okay, it’s not quite a sickness yet, but…

I built the Walleye Baits site to share information and stories about how and where to catch walleye. I expect this site will expand over time to provide even more information that could be helpful to novice and pro alike.

I can be reached at gil@walleyebaits.net.
